Hello shipmates!
This month we have a lot happening in
supply and so little time.
First there is the awards dinner.
That means Dress Uniforms for all hands.
This is a great time for OIC’s and staff officers to take
uniform notes, of needs and discrepancies, because inspection is
coming up at January drill.
This leads us to our second item.
Getting all of us ship shape, cleaned and pressed, for
inspection. We only
have Sunday to get this accomplished if you need pieces and
parts from the supply office, this is where those notes come in,
OIC’s need to send cadets down early on Sunday to take care of
any uniform issues that need to be addressed.
Next there is a brand new uniform manual,
for the NSCC/NLCC, put out by National Headquarters.
It is available on the sea cadet web portal.
One of the changes I have found so far is how to properly
wear medals with your dress uniform.
Chapter 5 Sec. 2 Awards, 5203 Ribbons with Medals;
so check it out and check up your chain.
We also have to start thinking about
getting ready for winter training and cold weather gear.
It gets cold in February and those of you who qualify
will be out in it.
Like I said earlier there is a lot to do this month.
